Chris Tebbutt, a Berkshire Hathaway sales associate and community leader, was recently elected to the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce board.
With a bachelor of architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a thesis emphasis in urban planning, Tebbutt has worked with cities such as San Francisco and Phoenix on downtown neighborhood revitalization plans.
A former small business owner of a residential design firm in New York City, he also managed the design of several real estate development projects, including the $480 million seismic redesign and construction of the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, where he was responsible for the aquarium and rainforest exhibits of the second LEED Platinum museum ever built.
“Chris’s architecture background will provide helpful insight into the issues and potential of the Downtown Strategic Plan for Laguna Beach, and he will work to increase local business-to-business exchanges to promote commerce within the city,” said Jim Vermilya, branch manager of the Laguna Beach office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
