Home saunas provide a luxurious amenity that you wouldn’t normally expect in a personal residence.

Trends are always changing.  You might be surprised to hear about some of the current features that are catching on in luxury real estate. In fact, you may even want to invest in some of these ideas for your own home.

It is no surprise that large closets are a desired element of a home.  What is interesting is to see how they are evolving.

Mansion Global recently shared an article about how closets are becoming more social media friendly. LA Closet Design in Los Angeles strives to make closets into a showroom and also adds charging stations to closets. Why? It turns out that many people are taking runway style photos of their clothing in their closet and posting them to Instagram and other social media outlets.  As a result, there is a demand for closets to be impeccably organized, spacious and stylish in design for these glamour shots.

Realty Times covered several other fads that are popular in the luxury market. Pet rooms are becoming a special way to use a spare room. If you have the space, why not delegate a room to your four-legged friend? Pet rooms are often designed to mimic high-end pet hotels, with pet beds, food area, a play space and even flat screen TV’s.

Amenities that you can bring to the home for ease and convenience are another trend. For example, Realty Times claims that home saunas improve the value of a home. Why? Not only do they provide a luxurious experience that you wouldn’t normally expect to find inside a personal residence, they are also able to provide medical benefits.

Along the same line, a home gym is another space that will benefit your health and be seen as an attractive home component.  Again, it provides convenience since it is literally steps away. Whether you create a typical workout room with exercise machines and weights or set up a sport-specific zone (i.e. boxing gym), a home gym is considered an exclusive retreat.

With technology being such an integral part of our lives, it’s also worth noting that smart home capabilities are becoming more of a requirement than a request.  We rely heavily on electronics and being able to monitor a home from your phone or have a personal assistant integrated into your home is considered a must have.

Who knows what’s in store for 2019?
