Custom Home Goes Under the Gavel
A dramatic Newport Harbor home with ocean and Catalina Island views is set for auction on Dec. 16, with the sellers hoping for a $3.8 million bid. The 4,200-foot custom residence was reconstructed in 2008 and outfitted with designer finishes. The open floor plan includes about 1,642 feet of exterior decks, balconies and garden loggia, offering ample spaces for entertaining.
The home melds traditional architecture with contemporary design through such elements as barrel-vaulted ceilings, custom moldings, rare stones and custom engineered corner windows. Additional amenities include an elevator, office and central air.
The owners will be present at the auction and can lift the reserve $3.8 million price at their discretion, says agent Coleen Brennan. If bidding reaches $3.8 million, the home, originally listed at $6.1 million, will be sold, though the opening bid is $2.5 million, she said.
Registration begins at 2 p.m. at the home, 2215 Pacific Dr., Corona del Mar, 92625. More details @ www.amgre.com. Call Coleen Brennan, 949 275-2775. Preview during open houses on Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. until the auction.
